Nilagang Baka Recipe (Tender Boiled Beef Soup) | Filipino Cooking with Chris Urbano

Posted by

Today, I’m going to prepare a Filipino comfort food that really occupies a special place to the hearts of many Pinoys! Nilagang Baka – an everyday dish that can be found in almost all carinderias (small eatery) in the Philippines which is highly appreciated by every one. Add beef unto the boiling water until becomes tender. Add more water if necessary. Combining salt in the water I’m going to use 2 types of beef: beef brisket and spare ribs Beef brisket – a cut of meat from the breast or lower chest of beef I choose spare ribs because it’s perfect when extracting flavor to the soup. Let it simmer of 2-3 hours Saba banana – primarily a cooking banana though it can also be eaten raw Sitaw – “string beans” 2 more minutes and it’s done Wondering what wine to pair with this dish? Actually… NONE Nothing fancy at all.. Just add rice and that’s it!
