My home remedy for cold, cough, sore throat & immunity booster, flu & cold | Turmeric tea

Posted by

Hi Friends, today in Neeskitchen, I am going to do a simple tea with Fresh turmeric, ginger & pepper two three days back on instagram when I showed this tea many people requested me to do a video in detail asking me on how to do this and ingredients used so this is a quick recipe for you. Now if you know some countries are affected with corona virus so we are trying to have immunity booster based foods of whatever we know so we are trying to have immunity booster based foods of whatever we know so we are trying to have immunity booster based foods of whatever we know at our home this is one such recipe. The turmeric tea whatever I am doing today is not only for immunity booster, it is also good for it is good for mild cold, cough ,running nose at times sore throat this will be good for such cases also now lets begin the video To make this tea, we will first take 3.5 cups of water we should boil this water well so before it boils, we can keep the other ingredients ready. all the measurements I am mentioning in this video needs to be adjusted based on your taste. I am first taking fresh turmeric fresh turmeric is much better than those available as ready made tumeric powder because in some turmeric powder I heard that they are removing curcumin – an important ingredient in turmeric is been removed ( read in some places) so if you can source fresh turmeric, you can use this remove the skin the turmeric remove the skin the turmeric You need not use peeler, you can scrape it with a spoon itself but this skin is hard, so I am using a peeler In our channel there is a detailed video on where all I use & how I store fresh turmeric In our channel there is a detailed video on where all I use & how I store fresh turmeric I will add the link in the description so peel the turmeric completly like this Now to take a heavy pestle and crush it Now to take a heavy pestle and crush it do not cut them, crush to get the maximum flavour do not cut them, crush to get the maximum flavour Next is ginger I always take double the size of ginger from what I took in turmeric I always take double the size of ginger from what I took in turmeric we will remove the skin from ginger Once you peel, crush the ginger Once you peel, crush the ginger , no need to cut them so that flavour would be nice Next we need to add pepper to this tea To absorb the curcumin ingredient in the turmeric into our body, addition of pepper is needed as it helps in absorption of turmeric into our body So little pepper is needed but instead of pepper I am taking long pepper which is also from the pepper family I am adding only one long pepper as it creates too much body heat if you are adding black pepper add 3 to 4 nos Along with long pepper I am adding Piper longum Piper longum is optional, you can omit but add 1 pepper variety without missing By now water has started to boil now I will add turmeric, ginger, Piper longum and long pepper Whichever vessel you are using make sure to leave 1 inch gap because when you add these ingredients the water levels tends to increase and they would rise up Once you add everything, close with a lid Once you add everything, close with a lid suppose if it overflows, take out and put it back but its more effective when you close and do this tea then all flavours will be good too I am boiling this for 10 mins nicely When it is boiling, we will take a lemon For the lemon quantity decide based on your taste buds How much ever you can take it Cut like these thin slices I have taken half a lemon Some people might need more tangy taste, in that case you can add full lemon so lemon size decide based on your taste buds But make sure you cut like this After 10 mins it will be like this During this stage, add the lemon slices one by one During this stage, add the lemon slices one by one Now close with a lid and allow it to boil for 5 mins If you boil too much this would turn out to be bitter because lemon cannot be boiled for a long time it needs to be cooked in correct timings so for this measurement 5 mins enough So after 5 mins, the tea is ready I have teapot like this It has a filter like this so in you add this filter, no particles will be coming in the tea I am adding this cooked turmeric, ginger the pepper, lemons I am first adding them into the filter, then I will add the water You might think if we can use turmeric, ginger one more time as tea You might think if we can use turmeric, ginger one more time as tea You cannot use it as all essences are in water now So you can take one turmeric or ginger and try to taste it it would taste bland and tasteless because all essence would have gone to the water so boiling this for the second time is not needed so thats the reason I put in the tea strainer so that little bit left over essence would be infused into the tea If you see the color of this tea it is like yellowish orange thats the color of fresh turmeric if we use turmeric powder (store bought) the tea might be bright yello so thats the difference between the fresh turmeric and turmeric powder in color Next is Do not reheat this again, if you reheat the lemon would turn bitter so once you heat it have it immediately so once you heat it have it immediately so this is our simple turmeric, ginger and pepper tea this is what you are seeing on my instagram off late if you try this out, do leave a comment under the video I hope you like this video will see you soon in another video.
